The Area

We have a perfect location for your vacation!  If you have never been here you are in for a treat; if you have, you know what I mean.  30A is an 24 mile, unique suburb of Destin/Sandestin/Miramar that has rare coastal dune lakes, several state parks, and no high rises or chain restaurants but tons of places to eat.  It is a non-commercialized, laid back area with a bike path that runs the length of 30A so you can explore all of the unique coastal communities by car or bike.  You may want to try stand-up paddle boarding on the gorgeous calm waters of the gulf or play golf at the Santa Rosa Beach Club that is practically next door or, simply chill on white sandy beach directly in front of the condominium. This is not your typical beach town!  Destin is only 12 miles to the west for outlet mall shopping and entertainment venues and Panama City is 26 miles to the west   Be sure and check out Gulf Place with shopping and outstanding restaurants by traveling east about 1/8th mile.  The resort towns of Blue Mountain, Greyton, Watercolor, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach are all located along 30A.  There are several Farmer’s Markets on various days in the different areas.  Best of all, you are staying on the quiet end of Santa Rosa Beach on 30A so you have the same great beaches with a fraction of the traffic of Destin or the eastern end.

Some of the favorite local restaurants are:

Stinky’s Fish Camp  5960 West County 30A

The Red Bar  70 Hotz Avenue  Grayton Beach.  It burned down in 2018 but should be rebuilt by February 2020 (always, always crowded)

Café 30A  3899 E. Coast Hwy 30A

George’s Alys Beach  30 Castle Harbor Drive  Alys Beach

The food trucks at Seaside

The Donut Hole 6745 Hwy 98

Shunk Galley  in Gulf Place.   Won the "Hot Spot of 30A" award in 2018 with it's rooftop bar, perfect for watching the sunset and listening to live music

Some of our personal favorites (we like it casual!):

Pecan Jack's   Gulf Place.  Great ice cream including adult flavors!

Hurricane Oyster Bar  37 Logan Lane  Santa Rosa Beach (just off 30A)

Blue Mountain Creamery 2129 S County Hwy 83 (on the corner of 30A and 83)

Perfect Pig in Gulf Place

Goatfeathers  3865 West County Hwy 30A Good restaurant and fish market

LaLoba’s  Bakery  2217 W Co Hwy 30A  Blue Mountain Beach  Open at 7:00, cinnamon rolls gone by 9:00

To be very honest, we don’t eat out a lot because no one ever wants to leave the beach so the kitchen is fully equipped if you share our inclination.  Or, plug in the George Foremen grill on the balcony and enjoy the sunset.

Underwater Museum of Art UMA Florida off Grayton Beach ... it's the first of its kind in the U.S.!
